Honda: Dream to Drive
The last class that students take to obtain a degree in Advertising at the University of Alabama is Campaigns. This functions by each class getting their own client, then dividing into small “agencies” of about 7 students. Each agency will create a campaign based upon their clients needs and budget, and they will create a book to present their campaign plan. At the end of the semester, each group presents their work to the client, and a winner is chosen.
I served as my team’s Creative Director.
My class’s client was Honda.
Our class met with the execs at Honda to discuss what they were looking to get out of this campaign.
With a budget at $20 million, they wanted us to create a national 2024 campaign that will make consumers think of Honda as a major part of Formula 1 Racing. With the rapid growth in popularity that this sport has experienced over the past couple of years, this was a fun and relevant task. The general public does not realize that Honda creates these powerful racecar engines, and they do not relate this kind of luxury and power with the average Honda vehicle.
In order to communicate our campaign plan, we created a 50-page magazine, as well as a presentation to lay out all of our research, reasoning, plans, ideas, and concepts to report back to Honda at the end of the semester.

You really cannot fully appreciate the book digitally. If you really want to see the bulk of my creative work for this campaign, you’ll just have to reach out! I would be happy to walk you through our physical book where all of our work from the semester comes to life.
